Does anyone know any good engine builders in Melbourne, pulling my motor out in 2 weeks and know what pistons, rods and valves sizes i'm putting in but after a good respected engine builder to do the machining and balancing of the motor and crank, i'm doing 90% of the work my self, but machining and balancing i can not.

If any one knows a good engine builder in Melbourne particularly the Dandenong to Moorabin areas this would be greatly appreciated, or any where else that's ok.

Thanks in advance.

all should be able to look after your needs

higgins heads may also be able to aswell

I would not go to the first 2 one is in QLD isnt it? and another i dont even know if they have machining equippment.

Actually i dont think any actually are engine machinists (except maybe njc) theyre all tuners mechanics they have no knowledge (usually) of how to use/machine engine components. All they'll do is outsource to places like Dandy Engines then throw their bit on top

I suggest Dandy Engines My mates and i get all our machine work done there and asemble ourselves. theyve buitl plenty of fast drag cars and have a very good reputation

all of them are in vic. dont know of many lsx specilist workshops do all their own machine work, like most shop would send it out for machineing and do the rest themself.

Not having a go at your here but Cpbait did ask for machinists and said he wants to do all assembly himself so taking it to one of those workshops you mentioned is pointless.

Foundamentaly all engine are the same work the same basic way. Just because Habib's down the road builds awesome rb30's doesnt mean he couldnt do an awesome lsx motor.

So what he requires is a specialist engine reconditioner with a proven history of doing high quality work not someone who specialises in lsx series motors

Dale Patterson Motorsport in Tullamarine.(0407 771 991) They have a race car which leads the v8 sedan series championship, so they obviously know how to build a good engine. Get all my mods from there. Very good helpful bloke

Yeh all good, dandy engines were mentioned to me, also my boss mentioned to day HSD (Eddie Wood) who has a very good reputation as well and has built race engines for my boss and plenty of machine work for him at another place he worked. As well as some other places in the area with a glowing report so will more than likely go to him.

talking to a place atm in the states about my set up and hopefully will have it sorted with in the next week or two then order parts and then of to the machine shop when parts arrive, engines out so just stripping it down to a bare block atm and the heads down ready to go.

will be going to Chev's for the tune, been happy with them when iv been down there and found them easy to talk to and deal with.
