I just purchased a pioneer AVH285BT head unit and didnt know that you had to connect a wire from unit to handbrake wire or bypass it. I have the unit connected with the pioneer iso harness and not the one that comes in the box. Can someone please tell me where the handbrake wire is located on a vt commodore???? and if you know of an easy way to bypass the handbrake wire on the unit.??? I know that there is a micro bypass available from the US or that you can connect to a toggle switch. Ive also read you used to be able to just ground it to the car as well but it wont work on these new model units apparently. Any help would be appreciated.

What type of toggle switch would i need? Just a regular on/off? or a momentary on/off switch?

All good. I connected handbrake wire from unit to a ground wire and it fixed the issue. Now i can access all settings and play dvds.
