Hey guys wondering if anyone can help.
Not sure if related but i got my alternator replaced couple weeks ago as i had alternator warnings on dash etc..problem is fixed althou after a couple days when starting my car first thing in the morning and leaving work the idle has been sitting between 1500rpm - 1800rpm usually it sits at 500-600.. it seems to go away once the car has warmed up..also on 2 starts its really struggled to turn over, fires over but really rough like its gonna stall but comes good...
Its done this every day now for 5 days straight battery was disconected fornthe alternator repair woukd this play a role as the computer seemnto control everything but yeh i have no idea...today the idle was going up and down quite abit on first start up but was fine for the rest of the day..

    Any ideas?

fix that rubber boot first if its after the maf then it is un metered air which could cause a higher idle

Sounds like the Battery could be on it's hind legs.

    Really?
Its been fine everyday since my last reply so over a week. Today leaving work i was at the lights and the revs went up to 1500 twice, sounded like i was hitting the accelerater a couple times then was fine..also noticed my temperature is higher then usual. Its always been 108 ever since new alternator its been getting as high as 119

119 deg is far passed the fans trying to cool it thats not right, 108 should have both fans going and it shouldnt go over that then when u drive it should go back to thermostat at 89 deg

    Is it running stock tune?
How did you get temp reading?
What is the charge voltage range, startup and typically?
What is the performance / economy like since new alt?

Stock tune..the temp im going offis the oil temp on the centre dash...
Volts will be 14.6 at start up and usually drops down to 12.8. It jumps up after driving for a bit. Thats how these alternator work right?
    Performance and economy seem fine..

I forgot to mention at start up now the belts squicks loud...till warm... the temp im reading is on the centre dash...i notice when the temps higher the alternator isnt charging, volts are at 12.8 but eventuallythe volts will go up and it starts to cool down..just seems to be lagging with the charging since new alternator

A more useful temp right now is the engine coolant temp, available via engineering mode.
I was thinking maybe voltage range affecting the injector pressure delta but doesn't sound like it, sorry. Still

ok yea thats prob just the oil temp calc which 119 is still hot for not much work but the calc does read about 5-7 deg higher then actual, need to look at the ECT as monstar mentioned see where thats at, check the belt alignment it shouldnt make noises or maby the tensioner is going loose and it may not have enough tension on it see if u can move the belt by hand if it slips needs more tension

is its still a stock thermostat..? strange that it went down to 82-86 maby its getting stuck open a little sometimes, the stock one shouldnt let it below about 89 deg
