Hi all, I have just finished the process of clear coating my car, can someone please tell me how long do I need to wait before wet sanding the orange peel out of my job, I live in Victoria so temps are above 25 C today and the next few days.
Also while I am here can someone also tell me how to get the masking tape residue off my panels safely.

thanks in advance for any help.

Acrylic? 3 to 7 days the longer the better. 2 pac 24 hours to 7 days best not to go over the 7 days with 2 pac or it will take a bit more work.

Yeah it really depends on what paint system you used and the temperature. As mentioned, leave acrylic for as long as possible before sanding. I'd tend to leave 2 pack for at least 3 days before sanding/compounding (especially for a home job that hasn't been baked). For 2K I'd definitely get onto it within 2 weeks though.

Thanks mate, only left the tape on for a couple of hours after painting, I got the tape at safeway, so probably a cheap crappy tape.

Try wax and grease remover (prepsol) in a small spot or some hot soapy water and work away at it. If it was 2 pac you could use thinners but that will wipe your acrylic off which would sort of suck.
Yeah it's best to spend a bit extra and get some good painters tape, most learn that the hard way, i did lol

I have problems like that when I put the tape in the sun too long which enoys me a little.
