hey all
well me and a friend and going halfes in a burnout car
we are gonna be looking for a vn soon
hopefully for about 200 mark or cheaper
by the way this id for the ingham car show so its gonna be legal burnouts
so i was jsut wondering what i should do to make it a half decent burnout machine
we will deffinetly be taking out most the interior to make it lighter exept the 2 front seats
and take out the light where the airbox as ant try and stick a pod out as far as we can
we can get a heap of free parts hopefully
proberly put some g clamps on the rear brake lines aswell
and yeh
anyway
thanx for any help i get
oh and p.s.
feel free to delete this thread is you beleive i shouldnt be posting this i just thout it would be ok since its gonna be fully legal on a burnout pad

yeah...

*weld diff or get spool... new axles will be good
*improve cooling system as its gonna get Fn hot
*trans cooler
*reduce weight
*brake clamps or line lockers
*tacho if you aint got one

just remeber the strain a cars under when doing wheelies and just improve the bits whihc usually break (diffs, transmissions etc.)

aZk.

If you want sideways action and 2 be able to do donuts, weld ur diff up. I have a minispool in mine cost me $90, but if ya wana go cheap, just weld it all together. Dats about it really... oh and if u want tyres that last, get light truck tyres!
Have fun !

unscrew the rear brakelines at the front and block them with bolts, much better than clamping them, Pod filter not the best with a burnout car as your sitting still and the engine bay is full of hot air,

14" rims are the best, cheap nasty tyres for the most smoke, locked diff and cut your springs (it does help as the body duznt move around as much)

oh and trailer it there lol...... dont get too carried away with the "practise" runs in the driveway, we've blown 2 skid cars before the comp that way lol

ahh well the plans so far are
get a couple of sets of rime so we have atleast 2 or 3 and take a sh*t load of tires
then once we pop the tires change them and take them around the corner to the servo to pump them up
yeh we are borrowing a mates trainler
oh and with the pod it will be extended to outside the car with some down pipe or sumink so it will be poking out the front of the car threw the light hole
yeh we are planning on taking of anything not necesary to the engine has less strain
how would i go about welding up the diff
cause me dont relli wanna sped money ont hat kinda thing cause once we have finoished with it we are planning on taking it out bush and stuff it right up
we relli wanna soend about 50- 100 on it not including the price of the car
or we could maybe sell it on the side of the road as a burnout car
a tacho proberly wouldnt be hapning unless i get a free one or sumink
oh and we are planning on a auto 6
anyways thanx for the input so far
i will get piks and vids of it in the burnout comp
we arnt in it to win jsut the fun of it

do the bolts in the rear brake lines
soak the tres in desel befor the burnouts makes them smoke better
spool or weild the diff
take asmuch out of the back of the car as possible
make a heatsheild for your pod to keep all the engine heat away from it
wire a switch to the thermo fan so that its on when you start
and make sure you have a fire extinguisher in the car
