how to remove tailgate chrome strip on omega wagon

hi there just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the chrome strip from the rear of the wagon?
also how to get the rear carpet of the tailgate on the inside?

I would be guessing but i think it's the same as the badges. fishing line and fingers.
there's a sticky up top on how to debadge your car.

Not quite that easy, I'm afraid... This info is from the service manual, so all care but no responsibility if you break something.

If you want to de-chrome the car, the better alternative to removing this (given it leaves holes and a scallop in the tailgate) is to have it painted body colour instead, which has been done by a few people.
