Its the whole beta vs VHS all over again, lightning port vs usb c. Apple and its propriety connectors, buy a new cable for your iphone 5, now you have to buy a new cable for your headphones.

USB C FTW! The whole Microsoft HD-DVD vs Blueray again. Sadly Apple will stick to there guns and wont change to USB C, unlike Microsoft who eventually went with the blueray.

The mentality behind Android is that has a global community to back it up. Is all Open Source, everybody can look under the bonnet, change what you like (if you have the knowledge) and share the knowledge with everybody (if you want). That is what the Linux world is all about. Companies like Apple and MS are Close Source. To put it in perspective, is like buying a car, the hood/bonnet is welded shut and you are only allowed to put fuel in designated service stations. On the Apple world, is even more draconian. You are not allowed to change the seat and steering wheel position; because Apple says is the optimal way of driving. Your live style has to be molded to Apple's mandate.

At work, I was sharing a MP3 with my mates. Shared with all Android devices, from any make and models. All done via Bluetooth, Samsung, via NFC. One guy got left out, the Apple guy. His device will not pair up with any Android phone. Here is another kicker; I use Mageia Linux 5.0 for my home Computers. My Note 5 can pair up with the PC via Bluetooth or just as simple with the USB port. Move data all over the place without any software/middleware incolved. I can play the media stored in my phone through the computer sound system via Bluetooth. On my Chevy Colorado via My Link without any drama. I like to mix and match my tech, look for the best deal, shop around. On the Apple world, all has to be Apple or does not work at all or half ass work; how cruel is that?

I say, people that understand Fashion, buy Apple, people that understand Technology, buy Android.

IPhone 7 new magic is perhaps the ability to ship on different colors. They were like Ford's Model T; you can own one in any color as long is black.

Agree totally. Ant that's what I use mine for. Talk, text, but I do check the weather and enjoy reading the news on it at times.

Here is a pretty decent comparison Apples to Apples

iPhone 7 Vs iPhone 6S: What's The Difference?

only those morons that sit out front of the apple store 2 days before the launch would upgrade from the 6s to 7. this is people throwing money away in my opinion.

i even like how optus/telstra have that little option where you pay X amount over the 12 of the 24 month contract (or one end lump fee) and you hand your phone in and pay to go on a new 24 month contract. biggest money making scam ive ever seen, yet so many idiot i know have signed up to it.

so to break it down, you pay (example for the contract im looking at with optus)

- $40 a month for the phone over 12 months = $480
- pay $99 fee to upgrade ($149 for telstra)
- give a phone back which you could sell on gumtree with ease for $400
- then sign another contract and do the same thing all over again

thats a thousand bucks right there just pissed away to upgrade a phone and be the cool kid on the block for that week or 2 before everyone else has it..

Cameras – The Samsung Fightback Begins

For the last two years Samsung has been the smartphone photography king, but the new iPhone 7 makes some very welcome changes after the iPhone 6S plateaued from the iPhone 6:

ive always argued that my samsung S5 camera is absolute junk. my iphone 5 was far more superior with quality and colour.

other than that, everything on that write up is invalid to me. phone can look up porn and send msgs which in reality are the only 2 things i care about in phones these days lol

The whole reason smart phones were invented was to get porn on the go , in fact the whole reason behind the inter web thingy is for porn and looking up new swear words .

I checked out the iPhone 7 & 7+ when it was released at the Telstra shop where I live. There were no queues & anyone that went in hardly blinked an eye at it. The Optus shop up the road had a 100m queue of people wanting one.

I have an iPhone 6+ atm & I loath it. It's a mini-mini iPad that you use for calls. I even stopped using my iPad mini cos of it. I hate it's size & I wish I never bought one. It's not pocket friendly. I compared my 6+ with the 7+ & I didn't get 13. The 7+ is just slightly faster but not much & does everything my 6+ does. It's not revolutionary as the old 3 & 3S from years ago, it's just a slight evolution. Apple hypes up their phones as must haves but in reality we're getting the same thing as before. I'll keep using my 6+ until it dies. By that time refurbished 6S or 7's will be more available on the market.
