Hi all,
You know how generally with a lot of cars, during the cold start the car will sit at about 1000rpm for 30 seconds before dropping to normal idle rpm.

Well my VR V6 Commodore during a cold start will idle at 1000rpm for around 3 minutes or so before dropping to the normal idle rpm. This only occurs during a cold start and otherwise the car runs fine. Start it up after sitting for while (warm start) and it acts normal.

My previous VR V6 did this aswell.

Is it normal for a VR V6 to do this?

No codes
Very healthy engine

Cheers guys

Just like a Alloytec !
Then you know the oil has circulated!
And is ready to drive it.

If there is an issue you would be better off using a diagnostic lead and software to see whats going on when warming up than trying to replace parts ect.

I recommend the aldl cable and software from envyous customs. https://www.envyouscustoms.com/product/aldl-cable/
you will need a laptop and as the software is tied to the laptop you install on, a borrowed one might not work out in the long run
they also have a area on this forum if you want to get more info.. https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/forums/envyous-customs.251/
