Hi guys, i hope this is the right section.

im doing an engine conversion on my land rover discovery 2.
out with the 4.0l rover v8 and in the 5.7 LS1.

the disco 2 has a static fuel pressure of 50psi.
the LS1 has a static fuel pressure of 58psi.
that's a 16% difference.

can I just retune the LS1 injectors to be open for 16% longer to make up the correct fuel amount?

cheers

the correct way is to change the injector data "injector flow v kpa Vac" to suit the new line pressure, or put a adjustable reg on it and set it to 58psi

so you tell the ecu to expect a different pressure and the ecu does the rest and compensate.
thats pretty cool.

It does not compensate, you put in the correct figures for injectors and fuel pressure
and the Fuel/ve table will most likely need a bit of work.

when changing fuel pressure the VE table or maf table can be adjusted as a whole by a percentage to correct it back to very close fueling but its worth checking with a WB just encase, at the moment your fueling is based on 58psi so if u lower it and then let the ecu know its lower for the injectors because the ecu needs to know the difference between line pressure and manifold vacuum then u still have the same fueling for the higher pressure in the VE/MAF so u just have to increase that to suit also, then because its all done right u should have consistent fueling
