Got the socket 2day from jaycar. now, I solder that 2 the eprom so I can plug in and change the chip n thats it-yes?
Also, do I need this??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7602933565&fromMakeTrack=true
And whats the diff between the 27 and the 29
29's seem hard to get whereas the 27's r continually made. Does it matter?

No you solder the socket into the memcal, then plug the eprom into the socket, the 29c is erased by electricity almost instantly and the 27c needs UV light

Your eprom is posted today btw, make sure the base timing on your car is set to the factory 10 degrees in diagnostic mode, because I'm running alot of timing on the chip, same as I run in my car and it doesn't want any extra than it has

: ) It's running a bit more fuel than you probably need too, but I thought you never know when a set of extractors and dual cats might fall into your hands

Yeah, thanx heaps m8. glad u set it up like that.Extractors (actually going 1 3/4" primary pacies regardless of how efficiently they run pre supercharging) n twin cats r def the eventual plan....

Does the chip sit close to the top of the card on the burner (close to the latch) or close to the bottom of the card?

Thanks,

Away from the latch, with the notch (pin 1) on the chip pointed at the latch, you also wont need more chips at the moment because you have a 29c that came with the burner? and they are re flashable
