Have a mate that played for the Adelaide Crows many moons ago, he was contractually prohibited from a myriad of activities, including his favourite; dirt bikes.

yes, would appear he wont make it back to a normal existence at all..tragic for him and moreso his family, very very tough but humane decision is not far off me thinks.

This does suck, but the hardest option may be the best option.

not many people come back from these type of injuries unfortunately, the best thing imo for him and his family will be to turn off the life support, they are only prolonging the inevitable unfortunately,he will always be remembered for his acheivements on the track,i feel for his family especially his kids

Very very terrible indeed. Here's a guy in the prime of his life having done it all, made mega money, has a beautiful family, and enjoying one of his pastimes snow skiing, and it's all over in a flash.

I'm so glad I saw him race that red machine, and will always remember at the 2004 F1 in Melbourne on the Friday practice him coming out, passing us at a fair pace for a first lap, then on lap two setting the fastest time that anyone had ever gone around Albert Park..........Sensational.

My heart goes out to his family and close friends.
