Haha... Exactly what I thought last night when I read it :p Plus he's importing gear that's available here.

Anyway, back on topic... finally going to start installing more gear on the weekend.

Have Boston Pro60SE to go in the rear doors and will try to design a box for the big sub I posted earlier. It's looking like a back seat job just to see how it's going to sound as I don't want to remove my boot install yet.

What sort of crazy box does that massive sub want??

hey guys im a long time listener first time caller i have a vl and i quite like to listen to the radio (especially hamish and andy) well i thought its about time to uprgrade so i can really crank it. this is what i have so far

pioneer headunit cant remember the one it was some cheap thing

Digital Designs C4b 4 Channel Amplifier

2x Digital Designs DD2510a-D4 10" Subwoofer

Digital Designs M2a Monoblock Amplifier

Soundstream RF-60C Reference - 6.5" Component Speakers (front and rear)

can anyone tell me if this will enable me to listen to the radio nice and loud?

also any recomendations on installing this gear i hope its all ok, i just plug those rca things into the subs yea?

Might be a good idea to read some stereo/amp installation threads and see what you can find mate, and if you are still having problems then post up a new thread on it.

Oh, and yes, that will be fine for listening to hamish and andy

EDIT: I was hoping the installation question was a joke...funny bastard

They recommend 2.1cubic feet box for the 15"... But after a heap of research, the company has lied about their specs and recommended box sizes. Apparently the 12" needs 4-6cubic feet to sound good... So I hate to know what the 15" requires.

They say the actual specs are much like a home sub rather than a car sub that requires a small enclosure :(

Thats sooo cool 2LOUD2OLD........so you running them on the back seat in your car?
If so i'll guess 135ish

Whack them in the boot, firing rear....with that port about 20cm from the tailgate....maybe 137-138, they should last a while ;)

Run in series? so what, 8 ohm? why not go 2 ohm?

yeah was going to run on the back seat, should be good fun
will try and get some time on a lab next weekend to see what works best.

oops i meant parallel, meh i know how to wire it how i want, i just forget what to call it :p
not quite 2 ohms, when i disconnected the tweeter the woofer alone is actually 3 ohms, so i am actually looking more at 1.5 ohm load, so close to 1000WRMS for a pair of sik by nines :p not sure if they really will last too long ha ha

im really just going to be happy to register, anything on top of that will be a bonus

No problem, ive messed around with sub boxes on the back seat before and found it to be quieter than in the boot loading off the tailgate / tailights. But youre right, testing is the only way to know what works in what vehicle.

I reckon they'll last a while, ive put similar power into lesser-quality 6x9s and they lasted ages, wasnt till we started running them IB that they fried ;)

Im sure you'll register, it'll have to be in the 130s atleast...anything under that and i'll be dissapointed haha.
