Rears are PITA, you have to press the axle out of the hub to get at the bearing face.

I didn't do any of that all I did was take the wheel off so that I could get behind the brake caliper and I just undid the one screw and disconnected the wires going to it, just pull the sensor out carefully and cleaned it .

The debris sticks the the face of the bearing that the sensor reads off so just cleaning the sensor doesnt always work. Obviously it did in your case so it is worth a try.

Just wipe it clean with a dry rag.
