Selling my VT to a wreckers - How much should I get for it?

I just blew my head gasket and it's not worth repairing
I have bought a lot of new parts for it recently (battery, brakes, tyres, plugs, leads etc)

How much should I be getting for it? It still runs fine, but I don't know for how long

Or do you mean use ebay/carsales and sell as parts?

as what greenacc said. throw it on ebay or carsales. someone with a bit of knowledge will buy it, fix it and prob give it their kid as a first car.

plus you'll get more than $500 for it that way.

Yea my Dads VT wagon got into an accident (front banged up), wreckers offered him about $300. Which is a shame, had new recently bought tires on it too.

He ended up selling it to a panel beater for $1000. The panel beater has since fixed it and turned it into a courtesy car for his customers. See if you know any shops that might be interested in that sort of thing?

Or as mentioned, sell it on eBay. If the rest of the car is in decent nick, then somebody who knows what he's doing might just buy it.

Part it out or sell it on fleebay..

$150 tops. That's about what it's worth in scrap metal.
