VY Executive
Year: 2004
Model: VY Executive Series 2
Engine: Ecotec 3.8ltr
Trans: 5 speed manual
ODO: 154100 (bought with 149k on the clock)

Just a standard executive with the following changes:
  • SS front end
  • Fog lights (factory operated, ran my own loom for it)
  • GM Strutbrace
  • K&N Air filter
  • Touch screen headunit (Kenwood 4038BT)
  • Reversing camera
  • 35% Tint on windows and 25% on rear window
  • 17" SS rims (came with the car)
  • Colour coded mirrors (done myself)
  • 3.08 LSD (Yet to be installed)
  • FE2 suspension
  • Bigger rear sway bar

Future mods consist of:
  • Colour coded skirts and rear
  • Rear spoiler (not sure)
  • Exhaust system
  • Hi-flow cats (maybe)

Bought this car last year in november, had an acclaim VX before hand and swapped that for this one. So far loving it. I love the shape of the VY much more than the vx/vt body.

Its in pretty much immaculate condition; was an ex-forestry car. Came with a full service history & I found out that it had an engine rebuild by GM (under warranty) at 74k. So essentially the engine's only done 80k now.

Bought the SS bar for $100, just had to fix it up a bit and paint the rest to being same colour as my car, only took a day to have that all sorted. Likewise the mirrors, just took them off, taped up the bits i didn't want painted and gave it a go. Came up quite nicely!

The day I got it.

20mm rear whiteline sway bar, fe2 suspension and my LSD are all going in on monday (if suspension and sway bar turn up on time). Also decided to get bigger front sway bar links. Hopefully all this firms up the ride

Nice ride man. Nice paint job too. May I ask where you acquired the LSD? Been looking for one for a while haha.

Thanks :) Um I bought it off a guy who was upping his ss diff to a 3.9.

Was originally told it was a 3.46 LSD turns out its just a 3.08, but hey its still an LSD so an improvement over what I had

Well the LSD went in today, and the shocks and rear suspension turned up too so we put that in to.

Picture of the car missing the diff. Was all pretty easy to change over with the use of a friends hoist!

The rear shocks were really bad, clearly needed replacing once we had a look at them!

Didn't spring back and didn't even fell nice to compress.

Currently running without the rear sway bar and it already feels firmer!
