wavez.
the pink and blue wire is the power wire. and 12v source will work. if you really wanted to you could get a feed straight from the battery but the spare cigarette lighter power works just as well.

as to your second question.

the ecu cannot read the signal from the manual speed sensor. but your speedo can. so you want to connect it straight to the speedo.
being the purple and white wire above the ecu. on the loom that runs up to the dash.

hope that has helped you out.

Big Thanks Haydz
Having the speedo wire not running to the computer does this effect the series 3 dash options? e.g avg speed, distance?

And the auto loom wires? Keep the plug...what did you do it all? Like the trans temp sensor runs to the CTS and the TPS did you just bridge these two black and yellow wires? Or just tape the big tranny plug out the way?

No probs mate.

the level 3 cluster still works perfectly. but sometimes the car idles a bit high.

i cable tied mine to the stiffener out of the way. but you could cut and tape them but your more at risk of them shorting and stuffing something up.

if you wanted to get rid of it you could just heat shrink them that would be the safest option.

ok, why do you think it idles high? Something different than normal?

Its something to do with the computer not receiving a signal from the speed sensor. so it just guesses.

also if you roll for a while with the car in neutral. it will stall as the car constantly tries to lower the revs.

mmmm....if you end up fixing it let us know if you could and that would be great.
Maybe leaving the speedo wire connected to the computer and just connect the speed sensor to that wire (like a bridge) will fix it... That's how it is in the manual loom in Gregory's...

If the manual engine loom and computer are used... then are there any wiring modifications that nee to be made? Will the BCM etc talk to the new computer without any trouble?
