asking people for a simple favour and they just palm you off or simply don't want to have a bar of it.

Backstory. trying to rebuild a bike, and am chasing the decals (which there are no copies of)
Have come across a few that have the bikes, or have found them very rarely for sale (didn't win the sale because of the usual last second reasons)
Asking them the simple favour of, if they can, take a photo of a certain decal so we can reproduce it.
either get the cold shoulder or a "yeah nah, get lost" response.

heres hoping they don't damage that part and are they themselves chasing it in the future

When you brew beer, wait 4 weeks for the whole process to finish. Wait additional days to chill it in the fridge and when you pour it.... is ####ing flat.

Time to dump some yeast on each bottle and see what happens. If that fails, add more sugar, if that fails.... demote it for cooking.

as a firefighter with the CFS, i'll just say members of the general public piss me off.

with all the storms and flooding up here recently, we had 1 particular road that had trees down, flooding and a rock slide.
we had actually cleaned most of the mess and had 1 lane clear, but didnt open the road due to the risk of it happening again, ie tree falling down onto a moving car.

we only had enough bunting to close off 1 end of the road, so we used that, and at the other end we put a CFS logistics vehicle.

been sitting there for an hour (waiting for SAPOL) when behind us comes a car (from the closed road). we stopped the bloke, asked him where he came from.
he told us he has removed the bunting & road closed signs and put witches hats near the fallen trees and that he's reopened the road for us.

we asked him who authorised that?
he replied with "wadda ya mean?"
you work for dept of transport?
    no
    council?
na mate, i'm just a member of the general public, you guys should be thanking me.

Parts that don't work. Bought a nice shiny new reservoir for the VZ. First drive and it boiled the fluid. Back to ugly stock yellow I go.

Agreed. My youngest Son is in the SES and has worked out in the field for hour upon hour during the storms here in SA the past week. Last week he came home for short sleeps and headed back out to do his bit for the Community. He does it to help people but when it comes to twats who thumb their noses at authorities who time and again have said not to drive through flood waters he has those in his Unit find it hard not to be rude to them, especially as often there is a news crew hanging around so to be caught slagging off the public would not look good.

I think anyone who deliberately drives through floods and gets stuck should pay for the rescue, then get fined and lose their licence for dangerous driving. Then maybe others won't do it if they know what the risks are financially.

I wonder sometimes if they do it deliberately to write off the car and get a pay out.

I saw worse during our blackout last Wednesday, driving along in the dark and coming up to intersections you get 2 kind of people. Firstly at the intersection there are cars everywhere, a row of cars are going through while on the side the vehicles are stopped, Here comes some useless paranoid idiot behind a car going through and instead of following they stop and the intersection comes to a complete halt waiting for someone to take the first step. Secondly while approaching an intersection with no working lights it's common sense to slow down isn't it? So here I come along slowing down and watching what everyone else does but one idiot comes driving straight through like nothings wrong, big accident just waiting to happen there!
