Think ive fried my wiring 96 VS

'94 VR SS V8
Might just be the voltage regulator box on the back of the alternator that is fried. Try that first if you have a spare good one around.

So I took the alternator off my mates car, his is maybe 2 days old but it's still doing it, so I'm ruling out the alternator,
Let me explain abit better
When the car is idling it sits at 12-13v
Soon as I turn on the lights or radio the revs drop and voltage drops to 10-11v
Once I put the car in drive it gets even worst. I'll turn the high beams on, and you'll hear the revs drop, and the voltage drops to 7-8v than pops straight back up to 11-12v than will drop again, this just keeps happening,
So do you use think it maybe a faulty IAC.
I hope this makes sense, thanks for your help guys

Sounds like the electrical system can't take the load. have you load tested the battery? If that come up okay, maybe something else is chewing lots of amps - not sure if a dud relay could do that or not.

Did you try your alternator on your mates car? Just to make sure that it's ok.
Have you checked your battery connections? On tight and clean.

That's exactly it, it's a 650CCA battery, a week old, so you'd think it could handle it?, but I haven't load tested it
Maybe it's a bad ground somewhere as well

Yes done that also, we swapped em over, and everything worked fine,
Battery connections are on tight. Zero corrosion

Whats the voltage output at the alternator?
What is it at the battery?
Tried swapping over batteries?
Starting to sound like a dodgy connection/relay/fuse/ground.
I wonder if anything would change if you used your jumper leads as earth cables and connect them to the engine and then to chassis ground and/or battery negative (don't connect any jumper lead end to any live wires or positive side of the battery) if you get my drift

Lots of good advice above but back to basics. Did you fully charge up your battery after you completely flattened it at the beginning of this saga? Obviously there's enough juice in the battery to kick the motor over but you shouldn't rely on the alternator to re-charge the battery if it's been drained.

I actually think that this is the best advice so far OP. Advise on this before trying anything else.
