So I have an 05 SV6 with a full exhaust and cold air intake, soon to have manifold spacers as well. I live in Mackay QLD so I dont really have a choice when it comes to tuning as no one here will do alloytecs without severing my arm and leg as payment. Townsville Mechanical Services have offered me a custom dyno tune for $700 whereas in town I'm looking at about $1200. I was talking to a mate the other day and he suggested sending my computer away just incase something went wrong if I were to go to TMS and I had to go back as its near 500kms away. He said I could just get a second manual sv6 computer, send mine away for a tune and plug the other in while I'm waiting?

I haven't the slightest clue what I'm doing with computers, I pull things apart, not program things.
Is the friend correct or?
