V6 Ecotec Engine Numbers ???

HELP Please

I'm after a replacement V6 Ecotec for my VS

Can somebody please tell me the Engine Number Ranges for V6 Ecotecs for each model from VS to VY and/or for each year 1995 to 2004 so I know what I am buying?

Any HELP would be very welcome

Hi guys here goes for my first post on this site.

I have installed a v6 into my 81 WB ute. Thank you this site was very helpfull during the process.
I was told the engine suppled was from a VS but im not so sure after reading the above posts
My Engine no is VH949483. 88green vn do you have an idea of what model it came from?
