But.... For the price of the Pioneer TS-C160R's have a listen to some other brands and you will most likely prefer the sound of the other brands.

Exactly, I don't think the Pioneer 160Rs and the Jaycars are like Chalk and Cheese. I think they are pretty similar in sound quality it's just an issue with the price.

If you want to spend that amount of money on splits there is certainly much better brands out there then the Pioneer.

I do agree there are better brands than Pioneer for the money of the TS-C160R... though some people just will not shift or look at the options.. as they are Pioneer, Alpine etc freaks.

Personally the Jaycars are OK and very good value for the money though the EFX HDX-67 at $175.00 are better value.

But again it depends if you have been brainwashed by the major brands or are looking with your "EARS"

Hi,
What splits would you recommend for under $250.
Thanks for your advice.

RF-P162S
They aren't quite under $250..infact they are a little over $250 but I feel well worth the investment. I think they retailed for around $320-340 but I know some dealers including www.caraudiofactoryoutlet.com.au (A JustCommodore sponsor) sells them for around $280 So...spend an extra $30 but get speakers that are worth an extra $90 then what you had planned for and you won't be let down ;)
