I'm looking to remove the Aerpro fascia/alpine unit and revert back to OEM head unit on my 2009 SSV Sportswagon.

I'll try and buy an SSV head unit but understand key is to get a dual climate control unit.

I'm not an audio head in any way and just want radio and the climate control to work properly. getting the rear DVD player to operate would be nice as a novelty to show the grandkids in 20 years, but right now.. it won't get used.

A few questions:

what other model VE's can I source a head unit from that will do the job?

will second hand ones generally still be working OK and removed for upgrades or are they removed cause they're not working properly i.e. should i drop the thought of second hand OEM head unit?

can anyone recommend someone in Sydney that can do the security code business? and possibly do a decent job on the install from start to finish?

There is a few on eBay,
and I seen one on Market Place,

Make sure they are compatible with the Roof Mount Unit

The only thing you will need to do to get it working in your SSV
Is find a person that will VIN match it to your car.

I think one of the sellers is not far from me.

You want a VIN from the car it came from ideally. Any series 2 should be ok.

Screen colours are either red or blue.

DVD is enabled via Tech2 etc.

If you really want a Series 1 unit,
I seen the one on market place this morning, it’s in the langwarrin area
It’s from a 2007 BE SSV

You wont have any climate issues as the Aerpro stuff ran your SS-V dual climate system right? If you go back to a stock SS-V unit it should all keep working fine. As others have said, it's just a VIN match job -your VIN, not the seller's VIN. You can get them sent to you and just flash it yourself, that's what I did. 2-minute job.
