VP - Stuck in netural

Wondering if anyone can tell me how to get my VP into drive. I have got a B & N shifter and it keeps shredding the selector cable. I had aRAA man put it into drive last time this happened so I could drive it to get fixed. But I reckon only 1 in every 10 RAA men know what they r doing coz this last one wouldnt do it for me. Thanks

What kind of B&M shifter?

Check the cable to make sure there isn't any kink's in the cable casing and the bends are large and round, not U shaped.

I'm not entirely sure of how to change the gears, however I think there should be a Lever on the passenger side of the transmission which changes the gears, be careful though, putting it in drive while under the vehicle could be dangerous and I don't recommend it.
