dont you tune your own car... But ask if the rubber belt that can slip will effect timing... Even in an engine that has a timing chain...

I think your better off not installing the alternator but put a solar panel on the parcel shelf... Imagine the power gain by no drag of the alternator... + you car will keep the charge overnight as you have the solar panel working... ;)

lol!!!

oh well bigfaddytool whatever ur up to hope it works out for ya.

just to put a dampner on this aswell,

the ve alternator WILL NOT work on a vz, the ve alternator dosnt not have a regulator in it as such, it is regulated in the ecm, not self governed, it will bolt up, but wont work

Are you dead sure on this? ....... they look the same, both alternators I thought had the regulators built in.....

I'll now have to enquire with holden.

Are you being serious?

Well, the solar panels we have at our house does that, so when you turn the lights on for instance, the first source of energy is from the panels, and once that's been exhausted it switches to electricity.
So I'm only assuming, theoretically, it would be the same for a car too.

I'll be surprised if Holden even know, the answer your more then likely going to get it "the part number is different for VE and VZ so no it wont work"

Theres alot Holden aftersales dont know about their product.

Wish I could get away with not knowing much about the products I deal with but thems the breaks.

Holden are such a waste of time.........

It's a Mitsubishi Electric OEM number AOO3TG1491.

From what i've managed to find out it's the other way around, the VZ's dont have regulators and talk to the computer, the VE's have a regulator.

I dunno, I've been assured it will work. So I'll put it in and find out.

Just because they look the same doesnt mean the VE alternator will work in the VZ.

As said in the previous post, these to alternators will have different part numbers & therefore Holden will say it wont work.

Why dont u just get a VZ 120amp alternator!

It's a VZ/VE 120amp alternator........ I've already got it and it's sitting at home. so it should be fine, the point was to get a 120amp...... so i take it the alternators on ve's are just 120amp vz police packs?.......

i dunno, i'll see how it goes when i put it in.

There are heaps of places advertising the same alternator. VZ to VE V6 etc
