I saw a version of those wheels on a VE ute. Same profile but stepped in a bit. They were CNC’d and looked like some of the nicest wheels I’ve seen on a VE.

Yeah man, the lip is cnc'd and rear is staggered much like the VE setup, but possibly slightly smaller as I belive a 10" rim fits the ve rears, where my rears are a 9.5" rim.

These are the rears with a +43 offset

Compared to the front with a +45 offset

Just need to find out if they fit! If not I will be looking at mini tubs and in the future going for a decent negative offset to triple the dish on the rear!

So we had a great win for a Sunday!

Rears fit with about 2cm clearance to the guard, no trimming of anything and a bit of camber tucks the top into the guard, which on full compression looks to either just kiss the tire or just miss it!

So for all wondering, this is a VZ SS Thunder, with a 9.5" rear rim, +43 offset and the tire is a 275/30/R20.

I read plenty about 255's being max on a 19, and one other tyre shop told me the 275's wouldn't fit, so it seems to ring true that the ute design is wider then the sedans.


The larger sidewalls raised it slightly but the tire still tucks nicely. Pics for reference:
