VZ SV6 acceleration lag

Hi guys,
I have a 05 VZ SV6 and i'm having problems with the acceleration. when I go to accelerate (not excessively) the revs go up but it takes a second or two until you feel the car increase in speed and when the car starts speeding up the revs drop down to a normal. can anyone help me?

Could be fuel pump related (i.e could be on the way out).. how many k's and how old is you battery? Is this all the time or just at warm up . morning starts? Auto or manual box?

It's done 200,000 and it is constant and a manual I think it may be the clutch.
