One thing wrong with the world is pointless threads started with the primary intention of goading arguments from other forum members, usually resulting in an almost carbon copy of opinions and statements from various other threads where everyone ends up going round and round with no end result achieved.

I also don't like cats. They're too sneaky.

quite agree , except about cats , it's because they're sneaky is why I like them , small dog owners however . :shooting::shooting:

by the same token should we get rid of cars because of all the hoons on the road? I know people affected by stupid driving too and illegal drivers you see that on the t.v. all the time too.
I don't know the proper answer but i don't think taking the tools guns or cars out of the hands of the "responsible people" is the answer

See your point but slightly different situation, most of us need cars to get from A-B guns on the other hand are created for one reason only and that's to kill, they serve no purpose whatsoever to the everyday person. Why does the average Joe in the world need a gun? He doesn't unless it's to protect himself from another average Joe with a gun, point here is we need cars but we don't need guns (well the majority of us)

He's just as uninformed as the rest of the "anti-gun" world. Guns are not a problem. People are the problem. That's the answer to this whole ####ing thread. What is wrong with the world? People! Dumb ####, batshit crazy, psycho, soft arse, extremist, sympathetic, socialist, bottom feeding, PEOPLE!

Agreed with you long time ago that people are the problem with the world, the bigger problem is thinking we can control every situation. Humans are not created perfect, guns are not the problem I agree and even though I may sound anti gun I not really, it just doesn't sit easy with me knowing my kids are out there amongst these dumb arses that have them. A guns only purpose is to kill so why try and have them out there and control who has one? You can't they always will end up in the wrong hands because us dumb arse humans think we can control everything.

Yup, I might disagree with a lot of people about a lot of things or I might agree with a few people about a few things or any combination thereof, but I will always enjoy the conversation. :D
The trick is to never take things too seriously.

That's why I don't mind chats with you, I don't mind a meaningful conversation even if I disagree with someone. I can't stand it when some disagree with others and make it personal

Parliamentary inquiry showed that hardly any illegal firearms come from legal sources, so you can stop with that dribble.

Where did these guns originate from? Even if it's true that hardly any came from legal sources then that means some have and that's not acceptable. I stopped believing crap being fed to us from parliament, my wife works for the government and see's how information fed to public is done in a way to favour one side and is usually not entirely correct.

You live in a city?
Most farmers or rural people use guns as a way to control Vermon, rabbits, foxes etc or in bad cases eg when a fox rips the tongue out of a new born lamb they use a gun to put the animal down very quickly no pain.
I grew up in a country town not on the farm my father had guns he was (as in an earlier post) ex military but both him and I where part of the small bore rifle range in owe local area.
Good winning the medals.
But now I don't own a gun of any type and haven't for years, I don't need one to defend myself.
I do understand no guns no shootings I just hate all the political correctness there needs to be strict control but to remove something altogether? OK hears a example in a different way not every Muslim is a terrorist but every terrorist is a Muslim. This is a saying I have heard alot so should we get rid of all because of the few??
O and where I live at the minute there is a plague of kangaroos as in way to many destroying farmlands and causing a large amount of car accidents so the local government have handed out culling permits to farmers to try and lower the numbers.

Thank you for seeing my point thow, everything is not always black and white and I always try to show a different point rather than the politically correct one

Not related but i have been connected to people who have lost someone to guns, not crime as such but stupidity, I know it is not this simple and i do believe that some people should not be allowed access at all but by the same token should we get rid of cars because of all the hoons on the road? I know people affected by stupid driving too and illegal drivers you see that on the t.v. all the time too.

Here in lies the problem....How do you determine a responsible person? There is no sure fire to determine this. A good example is recent events in America....2 military (or ex-military) nut jobs, went on a shooting spree, snipering cops...At the time, these 2 peopel would have been classed as responsible people, but something twigged in their minds and they decided to start popping cops for the fun of it.

Then you have the situation, where a gun isn't available to a nutcase, so their next perferred weapon of choice, especially in this country, is knives....Or look overseas, where they are using axes.....

Unfortunately there is no answer on how to prevent this occurring....Once someone looses it properly, for what ever reason, they'll use what is available and some innocient person pays the price.

This thread is starting to take a another tack , one thing I think is wrong is people getting vilified for doing their jobs , as a now ex -Police officer this was especially disheartening .
