this came off a car last driven in 2008 ole mate tells us this happen while the car was parked in the shed he said he had the bushes replaced in 2007.
the rear control arms look about the same we'll get them next. We cheated with the front and brought complete arms with ball joints and bushes.
Can replacement arms for the rear still be brought?

The bush has disintegrated, some sort of urethane where the formulation was poor. I had some of those bushes but never fitted them on a car and many years later found them under my work bench and when I grabbed them they just crumbled in my hand. Unfortunately I don't remember the brand but it was a lighter blue than the Superpro bushes you now see on the market.

If you google you will find they are available. The prices I saw ranged from $185 to $360. castlemaine do an aftermarket adjustable one that looks nothing like the original for $300

Yes, rears replacement arms are available....

As @keith reed mentioned, you can get both standard and adjustable....

The adjustable arms appear to be alot thicker than OEM style

Here's an ebay listing for OEM style, thicker non-adjustable ones and adjustable ones

The bushes in those front lower control arms have perished due to age

It is smarter buying fronts with new bushes and balljoints fitted.....Sometimes, the balljoints are that bad, when new ones are pressed in, they fall out, because the hole is worn

I bought new balljoints for the vh only as you say vc to have them fall out so I had to buy new fronts.

Unfortunately when people aren't aware this occurs, they buy the balljoints only to have this problem rear it's ugly head up....

It's really easy to distort the arm when pressing out/in old/new ball joints. I have tack welded one in when it came out. Never gave any trouble after that and I drove that car hard.
