Windscreen Washer Additive.

Put a new pump in the windscreen washer bottle on the VS.
Had a lot on slime in the bottle looked like green skin pulled it out about 8yrs. ago.
Cleaned it out.
Does Washer bottle additive help keep it clean?

No no no, it does not keep it clean inside the washer bottle.
It's the worst thing you can put into your washer bottle.
It not only leaves gunk in the bottle but also blocks the fluid lines up to where the fine holes are to spray.
Just use water. Distilled water is best, then tank water, then water out of your tap.

I have always used just water.

I use a bit of washer fluid and never had any trouble with slime.

All I use is a cap of methylated spirits each time I service the car.
