Hia peeps longtime reader first time poster. This is concerning a vs L67 that smokes from alternator when battery hooked up. Just helping a friend it originally looked like battery was hooked up backwards so replaced alternator with supposedly a 2nd hand working one but went to smoke straight up and arks out as if it's being hooked up backwards. Obviously leads got real hot real quick 2 different batteries tried. disconnected alternator and Horn goes off on along with heater fan although no ignition on or the controls to heater. The indicators also come on and stay on. Have looked at main wires and earth coming from battery nothing seems melted or lose. Any ideas muchly appreciated.
