Fuel usage is scary. Compared to the clubby it's ridiculous. Clubby you can have fun in and have fuel left. In this you have fun and watch the needle drop.

What capacity tank is your Calais? Mine is 75L. I fill up every week from a few V Power 44s I gathered through contacts.

I get around 22/24L per 100km around town at the moment. Putting around under 2.5k revs. Between 0-80kph to and from work.

Yeah same size. I have a lead foot I can't help it. Having to learn restraint isn't fun but I have to so we don't go broke :p

Well the VZ successfully completed a nice trip up to the mountains around Tamborine. Was tossing up taking this or the wagon. Needless to say the VZ was a much better idea. Much better handling and much better brakes. Just over 400 odd kms used half a tank including going up and down the mountain so pretty impressed with the economy.

Chrome strips are gone. Detailing getting done tomorrow. Investigated the belt squeal. Found the tensioner is way up to the too tight mark. Tried taking the belt off with no success. Will be taking it to get looked at at some stage.

No idea if people are still following this but any way. Replaced all the belts. Main drive belt was 2mm too short and was perished. No idea how that happens. AC Belt had some decent cuts in it. Now seems the AC belt squeak is gone and car should be happier with the right belt.

2mm? Belts get longer not shorter as they age?

Also fairly certain the belts come in 10mm increments?

Good to hear it's sorted anyway :)

Yep 2mm too short. Belt on there was 268. Belt that was meant to be on there is 270. Don't ask me how cause I have no idea. Worst part is the belt has been on there for a while so would of been ever worse when new.

Yep. Contemplating moving to a VCM side pod. Maybe if clubby sells I will.

Edit:

Or not. Might of found a Y series HSV airbox with the ridiculous scoop.
