    Default Powerbond ballancers

looking for information for ballancers to suit buick 3800 engines. have checked the powerbond site but not really seen much to suit the buicks other then the standard replacement ballancers

looking for a 5-10% under driven ballancer

Other than the standard replacement balancer they have a race series balancer with a 5% overdrive 8 rib supercharger drive in front of the accessory drive set.
It's basically a variation of the Ecotec or L67 balancer made to suit the earliy 3.8.

PB1083-ST is for early S1 VN
PB1207-ST is for later VN and VP-VR
These are both street balancers but still fully bonded and much better than std. Both same price $177.70

Or there is PBO81081-SS5 for early S1 VN
and PBO1207-SS5 for later VN and VP-VR but as mentioned they have an extra set of ribs on the front
    Both same price $236.00

    Cheers.

thanks mate. seems very reasonably priced. you ship to NZ? may possibly be interested in one. fairly sure mine has seen better days. rubber is very soft and the outer ring moves around a lot when engine is running.

    Yuk.

The V6 ones can also develop a nasty rattle inside when they get old.

Yeah we can post to NZ if you like. I'll PM some rates.

I have a race series powerbond balancer they are top notch, in a world of Chinese stuff the Australian quality is almost alien engineering really. I dont know about the V6 ones but the V8 ones are a VERY tight fit and you need to warm them up a little (just to engine like temps) and press them on, so be prepared for that

Hi and welcome to the forum

I am also interested in a powerbond balancer, the stock one just shat itself- split at the keyway

Its for a 355 stroker, supercharged + gilmer drive. Was thinking along the lines of the race series, would this suffice and if so can a get a price with postage to 2749.

    Thanks, Julie

    Hey Julie.
Yeah PB1081-SS is what you want. They've got a forged hub.
Delivered to 2749 would be $189.15

    Cheers.

Excellent, do you have this item in stock? If not how long before you would have it? its just something we need sooner rather than later, I can't wait weeks for it.

    Thanks

    Talking smooth engine

balancer arrived this morning, just put it on and went for a quick spin. very happy with the result. engine is smoother right from idle there has always been a weird vibration that came in about 2600-2700rpm and only lasted for about 100rpm in the rev range. it seems to be gone. brilliant

i'd almost say the engine is as smooth as before i took the balance shaft out. should of done this years ago

for anybody that is interested, PBO81083-SS5 is the part number for the balancer i've just fitted to the engine. i'd certainly recommend to anybody else

edit: i will most certainly be getting another race series Powerbond balancer on my 308 rebuild

Yep if anyone is wondering about the powerbond race series, if you put one on your car, chances are it will be the highest quality part on the entire car. They are a work of engineering art. You can put it next to a corvette servo as a must have item

The Powerbond kits also come with Goodyear Gatorback belts I believe.

The underdrive kits add about 9-10 hp according to independent dyno tests

You can see a video of a test here

Do you make these for ecotecs? What about this like water pump, a/c, powersteering underdrive pulleys?

There isn't one specifically for N/A Ecotec's, they use the same balancer as the L67.
Accessory drive ring is only available in standard size.
