Default Feedback RE: VZ V6 Alloytec 20% Underdrive pulley kit

To anyone who's interested in these pulley kits Id highly recommend em.

    Story.

After researching the net for ages regarding these 20% underdrive pulley kits, ive found the product i want; just not the correct or sufficient info i was after. So after reading some more got intouch with Mark from TTT Performance Engineering who was a really great bloke to deal with. Easy to talk to, knew his stuff, no stuffing around either.

Made the appointment, drove to his shop & got to work on the car. Admittedly neither one of us had a clue how long it would take or how difficult it was but after some time we had a plan & it went well. Basically i couldn't have asked for any better with how good these guys are. Would very highly recommend this workshop for all your mechanical needs as these guys know there stuff & are excellent to deal with.

Cheers & thankyou to the guys at TTT Performance for such awesome, professional & friendly service.

    -Walt

Thanks Walt, we totally enjoyed your company for a couple hours too, never get sick of "ambo" stories LOL.
I'd love to hear how the car feels after you've got a few K's on it with the new pulley kit. We've got the dyno figures but seat of the pants is always the most important guage.

    $288 with postage.
No we don't make them. It's a Powerbond kit and includes race series balancer, 2 x idler pulleys and a Gatorback drive belt.

Sorry but they don't do an underdrive kit for the ecotech motor, only for the supercharged L67 and that only underdrives the blower.

    Cheers.

    Hey Glen.
Yeah I'm pretty sure the VE will take the same kit.
By reducing the speed of the accessories like p/steer, water pump, alt etc it reduces the drag and increases the power.

Sorry. no underdrive kit for the Ecotech, but then....you can get high ratio rockers for them.

No probs Torquative, I'd be interested in your feedback too.
I fitted a similar kit to a BA stright six on the weekend and the owner sent a text half way home to say it was a very noticable difference and good value for money

    Cheers.

On the Holden it's about 2 hours first time, the radiator doesn't need to come out, but theres a couple of brackets and accessories to take off to gain axcess to the idlers.
Special tools needed are a balancer puller 2 or 3 arm type, and a balancer installer is a good idea although not essential. Something to undo the crank bolt too, there are special tools if you don't have a good rattle gun.
An extra joint between your right elbow and wrist would be handy too. (to reach the awkward bolts, not what you're thinking of LOL)

I'm just curious on the delivery time for your products to brisbane 4520. A rough estimate will do greatly

If we have stock at the time we send same day or next day, deliveries from Wagga usually take 1 or 2 days so worst case would normally be 3 to 4 days.
But we have been getting a lot of delays lately and I think it's related to the floods, I know some airbags go on what the call the ashfelt boeing.
If yours was the order that came thru Thursday, there was a hold up at Powerbond and I arranged for them to ship direct today so it should arrive tomorrow.

    Cheers.

got a vz alloytec 160 and considering this kit. What possible issues are there with this system. Just mainly thinking water pump and power steering being affected at low rpm.
