    Talking Some Advise Please

Just wondering if you could help me, with my car sometimes stalling.
You see i have replaced the Radiator, Fuel Filter, and i checked for codes and i get the code 12.
Last night and the night before the Engine Warning Lamp Light came on and the car nearly stalled. Now when this happens the car nearly stops but not quite. Does anyone have any advise as to what could be happening?
    TIA.

Still doing it and now it stops and then when you touch the wiring near the module pack it restarts straight away. This car is a nightmare.

when you check for fault codes usually code 12 flashes first then the logged faults after . so when yu turn ignition on to check codes yu should get 3 times code 12 then few seconds later other logged codes will flash. so make time with ignition on for other codes to show. when yu changed fuel filter did yu make sure the arrow points to front of car for correct flow. check your battery terminals are not loose , and stalling can be the IAC valve dirty or sticking [ on throttlebody ] does not always show as check engine light . same for the TPS . after yu check codes , then erase them and then and start from there. also do a search on forum for how to check ya plug leads , with multimeter. maybe change plugs as well. you can buy a multimeter for around $ 20 and yu can check that the battery is putting out at least 14 volts DC with engine running to check alternator . if yu are unsure to do things , search on this forum and maybe buy workshop manual for your car as well . hope this helps you ......cheers.

    Hi thanks for your help.
It is now coming up with code 42, any ideas why and how to fix it. We have a workshop manual, but my husband would like to know why this happened. Thanks.

madreader222, code 42 is fault in the electronic spark timing circuit . if the vp aero is a v6 , problem could be the DFI module which is under the coil packs . possible if the car refuses to start when engine is hot , could be the CRANK ANGLE SENSOR behind the harmonic balancer, but check the DFI module first. if your car is a v8 fault will likely be the HALL SENSOR in the distributor or maybe ignition module on left side strut tower under bonnet. that code 42 fault may be why its stalling ......cheers.

Thanks so much for your help, he changed the DFI, and the ECU and coil packs today and is using our original memcal. He did a faults test and it came up 12, satisfactory. Tightened up the wires on the DFI and all connections and we shall see how she goes tomorrow. Thanks once again.
