hi, i recently bought a memcal that was susposed to be a SV5000 memcal.. i opened it up and its got 2 blue resistors solderd into it and a aftermarket chip also in it, (clear top, doesnt say delco) i was told that it needed the resistors to work? ture of is it just a cheap BS memcal?
its most likely a V6 memcal thats had resistors added so it runs the 5L properly as the V6 resistor packs wont work without them.if they chip has a clear window you need to cover it so sunlight cant get to it and erase the chip even though its in an ecu under the dash its allways a good idea still.is there a knock filter on the memcal as well small white board on the other end than the eprom

thanks mate, also sometimes the engine light comes on, i rev it and it goes away, usally only at idle and also the chip is making my car idle at 1,400? then it drops to 1200 then comes up to 1400 lol sounds like its got a lumpy cam haha,. any advice on turning the idle down, apart from turning the screw lol dont i have to reset something? thanks
the idle is set in the tune theres no way to change it without a new chip ebay purchase was it LOL
