have a hsv manta and want to no if by playing with the ildling or the timing would adjust performance or power to my car it has a chip and extractors but otherwise its a pretty standard engine ... any suggestions other than a dyno tune
Depends how much spare head room in timing they left you with the chip, if it wasn't all the way there then it will gain some with more base timing. But you will need something accurate to test it. gtech/track etc
wat do u mean by base timing
The base timing on the 5 litre should be set to +10 degrees in diagnostic mode as per the sticker in the engine bay!. If you want to advance the timgin 3 degrees and can't tune it properly in the memcal you can set the base timing to +13. But this is a global change in timing over the entire map
how much would you gain from adding timing from the dizzy?
how long is a piece of string?
it depends on many things, what your base timing is currently set to... how much your engine can take... what fuel you are using... what's on your memcal...
ok thnks for the info guys
