If the knock board has been removed from memcal will this cause limp mode and eng check light on?.
Factory has knock sensor but it now has cam and memcal with no knock board after putting it in diag mode i cant see a difference in the timing with light. The car feels like its lacking power. Should i just take it for a dyno tune? or what recommendations do use have? i have a knock board somewhere at home
wont cause limp home mode but can make the light come on if the tune isnt set up to run without the board in place .also if it doesnt have the board unplug the knock sensor it will do weird shit with the sensor plugged in and no filter board.what error codes are you getting.was the memcal included in a cam package

Yeh memcal is a crow came with the cam, it has a part number but cant remember... The sensor is unplugged, umm error codes are 31,59,66,67,73 and 82 the last 5 are from manualised auto - doesn't run a loom to the auto there's another one there with a few diodes and a ignition wire. i had a spun balancer fixed that now when i set timing it doesnt change when its in diag or not so something is not right
31 is Theft Deterrent Signal Missing what the hell is that? lol
depends what they set the idle spark advance too some of the stock tunes run 10 degrees idle advance in the higher kpa areas so it may well be idling where its set to the same timing as the base timing would explain why it doesnt change.you need a memcal made up with all the codes turned off anyway may as well get in touch with greenfoam via his nicefrog username on ebay if he has any listings.code 31 means youve cranked it at some stage and the key hasnt made contact with the ring round the ignition or the ecu has missed the bcm signal momentarily nothing major happens quite a bit.so you got no torque convertor lockup now either since the wirings not plugged in

hmm good idea to speak to greenfoam i know he is a very busy person, i will try his ebay. Yeh ive noticed once it didnt start because it didnt touch properly but the terminal on the key barrel was bent out so i fixed it, ill reset the codes and see if it still comes up. What do u mean no torque converter lockup? what will that do for me? thanks
normally under low load while cruiseing theres a clutch in the torque convertor that gets activated to lock it solid so theres no slip saves fuel and drops the revs heaps at 100kmh

ahh so thats why it sounds like its got a highstall on the freeway LOL, ive got a workshop manual somewere ill see if i can just wire that feature up and still have the auto working, because if i plug in the factory loom ive only got 2nd and 3rd thanks heaps delco
