speedo recalibratin help!

got 3.7s the other week, went to holden today to get the speedo fixed charged me 1hrs work for what a 10minute job. not happy. and in the end its still not fixed.

its a vt v6 s1 auto.
according to the receipt it went from 6284PPK to the new 6263PPK, this doesnt mean a whole lot to me. but does anyone know if they have put the wrong number in or what? is there a way to figure it out? ive gotta call em back up tmro so i would like some info to argue my point?

all good found the info i needed. they must of given it to the office girls to do. the idiots actaully lowered the gear the computer thought it had. it needs 7573PPK (pulses per kilometer) might go in and see them in person and talk to the mechanic see what he has to say.

Actually you need a ppk value of 7610.1686 by my calcs. 6284 original ppk divided by 3.08 (original ratio) is 2040.2597 and then multiply that by you new ratio of 3.73

Are we allowing for rim size?

stock wheels. and new diff gears are 3.70 not 3.73. although i dont know whether old diff gears were 3.07 or 3.08. half of ppl think its one half think its the other.
But the Tech 2 computer can only handle upto 7500PPK i am told, so that'll have to do.

just called them and its gonna have to be 'inspected' and could take another hr.

has anyone done this before? how long does it take to change the PPK to 7500?

nah didnt have to pay for them to fix it. there was no way i was giving them another cent.

they guy just came out after i had a go at them and asked to talk to the mechanic that was gonna do it. make sure he knew what he was doing. then he came out 5mintues later its fixed. he even had to read off this bloody sheet on how to do it. useless!

was gonna go arguee i had to pay for an hr labour for 5minute job, but was happy it was fixed. NEVER going back to Holden again.
