thought this might be a question for the tuners.
on my acerage the other day took the car for a drive and had full throtle at the top of 3rd gear and instead of changing into 4th gear it just keep driving into the limiter further. limiter is 5500 and i got off the gas about 5700. vt v6 4L60E gear box, with stage 2 shift kit.
was thinking could the ecu think that because im giving it 100% throttle that it shouldnt shift into overdrive gear and just stay in top gear? i had the gear stick in Drive.
anyone got any ideas?
mabye cause you wanted to go full throttle ... it was trying to go quicker ... but like in 4th and the speed you go .... it dosn't have the power to pull in forth so it stays in 3rd? if that made sence
wait why you going that fast for ? lol
lol you trying to kill yourself. yes its the tune, it will not shift into 4th at high speed. have fun trying to find a tuner that will turn it off and help you kill yourself![]()
lol just for fun. keep in mind its got higher ratio diff gears. so the top of 3rd was only 180. Nah wouldnt want it turned off, just wondered if thats how the ecu was.
mine goes into 4th at WOT no worries and keeps pulling![]()
It wont go into 4th at a certain throttle position. Anything over about 1/2 throttle and it wont shift into 4th. Reason being is that 4th gear is overdrive and very weak. 4th is cruising only.
mine will also go into 4th at full throttle.
QldKev
well now im a bit confused.
for those who's DOES shift into forth, what car model etc? and have you had the memcal/ecu worked on?
My VS SS doesn't and have always been told that it shouldnt
