Great VY V6 Flash Tuner

Hey Guys, Quick question, I Have a 2003 VY V6 and i am wanting to get some kind of flash tune to make it work better with some of the engine mods that i have done to it, but im not really sure wheres a good place to go.. I havent really got anything too fancy on it yet. Im just wanting to get it amped up a little if ya know what i mean..

Im from central victoria so anywhere victoria wide would be a great help.. Also if they did dyno tunes too that would be cool, as i would love to get some kind of reading before and after their work..

Not sure who's doing VY tunes in VIC but there are some people developing methods to work with the VY ecotec ecu. The main issue being that the chip is soldered to the board with your model. Yes it can be done. Just not many people doing it is all. The guys that I linked you to are a smart bunch of cokies and I think you will find a solution there

Agreed post up details mate for everyone (or pm me) i have a vx with the same issue and i want to speak to a tuner who can get something out of my sixer with current mods!

I offer dyno tunes or mailorder (+exchange if needed) for the flash VX and VY. They are tuned in a similar fashion to LS1 and newers where you readout the stock tune, modify it and write it back. For the full on setups turbos etc. they can also be realtime tuned using kalmaker which includes mafless setup.

You probably wont get much more peak power for a stocker seeing as holden pretty much nailed that but drivability is improved and also auto shift firmness etc can be changed.

get a dyno run mate...
extra gear box psi can make the car feel faster when it hasn't got power, not for a second discrediting the tune just get a b4 and after and post it up for all us after a good tune.
be interesting to see the difference.

I'm keen to get it on a dyno, not for a tune just to see what the mace upgrades and the computer combined give.

Anyone know of any dyno's in the North brisbane area that will just put your car on there in shootout mode without trying to sell you a tune?

pretty much all dyno's will do a 50 buck shoot out for you. Do you still have your old ecu?

So when it says you remove the memcal and install an NVRAM, any idea where to get one?

My VX has a Chiptorque chip in it that allegedly give them tunability. Chance that this is a chip that will work with the program?

If your VX is a S/C V6 then I am not sure what chiptorque add, the standard memcal can be reprogrammed (using a UV eraser and EPROM programmer), have seen some companies use a small board in place of the EPROM or memcal to stop people from reading the binary. Its very very unlikely that its going to be an NVRAM and be compatible with the flashtool.

Nah standard V6 with the flash module.

Might it be in my best interests to get another VX standard chip, slam it in and dick around so that I can always reinsert the Chiptorque chip later?

So they desolder the original flash chip and add another? There is no removable memcal/chip in the VX,VU or VY V6 PCMs.

You would possibly need an entire PCM if they have done mods to yours. Can always just try and see if you can read the binary out first.
