    Default Finding Trouble Codes

    Hi all.

I purchased one of those ALDL to USB cables from EBay, and I have EFILive V4 Eval going with the fixed VXV6 file, but I can't seem to find the DTC for the car. All I get is the screen attached.

I have read somewhere that the Eval version only show the first 8 (6?) DTC and you need the full version to show the rest. True or False?

And is there a program that will actually show me any active DTCs?

Yeah I read that webpage, I had a suspicion that was you, you must get around. But the Tunerpro V5 webpage doesn't have any definitions or other files.

I downloaded V5 and that VX/VY file, but I need others to run Tunerpro don't I?

EDIT: This is the tutorial I tried to follow.

You are a legend Delcowizzid, if you ever come to Brisbane I will buy you a beer.

Also if you know, my parents VY is having problems with the fans not coming on unless you turn the A/C on, it is displaying error 92 'low fan communication error', now I know the fans work and that the relay is fine, could this be a ECU issue, or do you think I should check the wire between the ECU and relay first?

Yeah it did. Though I must be doing something wrong. It worked fine on my parent car the 2nd time, 1st time it was on/off everything, gauges full then empty, continuously. But I hooked it up to my VX V6 and every error code was on then off, and the gauges where working but the indicator below them where changing too, every second or so.

you need to select echo or no echo depending on what cable you have try that in the adx there will be somewhere to turn off/on echo will stop gauges bouncing round and shit

Hmm I just had to move my VX in so I plugged it in, and its less jumpy now but still doing it. I'll have a play around with it tomorrow. I love how it said desired idle RPM is ~63,000rpm, I must have one mean mother-f###er of an engine.

OK got some data with EFILive, and its weird in the least. Only error code was No BCM Responce, but the data..... O2 sensor quite different. Up to 100mV different for periods and even bigger in bursts. Probably my starting point for checking. I have new ignition leads so I'll put my parents VY coil pack on and get new plugs. One theory is that when it last go tuned the deck height on each bank was different, so one side required 25thou shorter pushrods than the other (they were all too large) maybe that could of throw it off????

If your interested. A small idle then a short drive. VX6_20101009_122438.alg

EDIT: My parents VY was displaying that error 92 that fan error, but in EFILive 92 is no BCM response, which was coming up in both my VX and thier VY?
