Replace EST with wolf3dV4 problems

Hi all I am trying to be brave and fit my wolf3d ver4 W3D40900. What a head ache.
First up does anyone have the software to read the memory cartridge on the pc. Wolf have removed it from the net.
The ones still available use a com port I need the one that uses the parralel port (lpt1).
So I have cut my EST controllers plug off and have all the wires labelled.
I wired up the crank trigger to the wolf along with the power wires, ran the red Ign1 wire to the reluctor side of a HEI Bosch ign module, hooked up a coil, powered the coil, stuck a spark plug in the end and fired it up.
No spark at the plug, but that could have been due to the coil being dud (its an ATA Racing one). Tacho worked on the hand controller.
So according to manual first thing to do is set it for your engine. Hold clear menu comes up toggle down to engine, yep all good, push set to edit, yep that worked tells me I have a 1cyl engine. Manual says push arrow buttons to select your engine. It doesnt work I can push buttons all day it doesnt move off the 1cyl engine setting.
Any ideas???
I have sent some emails out to aem and a few of there dealers asking for advice but aem charge $57 a year for tech advice. Thinking of selling the wolf.

Ok got past this bit seems the buttons or plug arnt the best needed a bit of rougher handling and it worked. So now just have 130 or so pages of settings to go through
