Default Will i need a re-tune? Swapping pod for OTR

Ive recently bought a vy ss, currently has a pod filter with heatsheild setup.. the car has a mafless tune, but if i opt to get an OTR, will i need a retune? or should be ok?

and whats your opinion on the pod setup. from what ive seen and read majority people go for the OTR, is it generally better for power?

    cheers

The OTR is better because it is getting cold air from the front of the car. It was probably done with an enclosed pod to make it look more stock as mafless tunes are illegal.

No. Ideally, yes, if you wanted that extrat 0.5 of kW, but I wouldn't bother.

i agree with abba, its nothing worth getting a retune over, thats something that could wait till you get a cam or something, an inclosed pod setup wouldnt be as good as an OTR, but it IS legal
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

Hey guys I know this post is abit old now but I have a similar question.
I have a vx ss with a growler cai. will I gain much if any power getting a vcm otr? If so what is the power difference?
I am also looking at getting a catback what would be the best brand at reasonable price for maximum power gains? Looking for a 2.5" setup. Would love some good feedback from the specialists.

If you don't have a mafless rune, you will need to get one to run the OTR. But I wouldn't be getting a tune until you get the exhaust done. As for brand, get the best you can afford. NAAF can help you with that as he's the go to guy for exhaust questions.

And the original question. Any change to inlet or exhaust or internals should ideally have a retune
