i have a vt
my son a vs
we both have vx engines.. vaXXXXXXX engine numbers!
we been told vx is tuned better engine ecotec 3.8..
vs is running its original vs computer
vt is running its original computer
can the vt running as a vx be improved to vx..by having its chip programmed to the same as vx set..and thus making the running gear engine run as vx
same question for the vs?
i believe the vt comp has a removable blue chip...that can be reprogrammed..
i dont know if the vs has the same ?
the reason we wish to do this is...vx engine is claimed to run 25hp and better fuel and profromance over vs/vt....which we told was same engine ..just older mapping on the chip..
how much for programmed chip of the vt or vs/
do we just buy or grab a chip from a wreckers ECU?
what other chips will work...vr? vx? in the vt comp and vs comp..?

posted the answer in ur other thread, but the vx ecu runs at a quicker processing speed which helped gain the extra 5kw along with the erg.
only way to possibly get it is an ecu swap out, which you'll have to add the vx bcm and possibly rewire to suit as another member posted.
from memory the vx chip isnt removable like the vs

can the vs and vt be improved programmed ..to the originals running standard gear ..over the holden progam
so without any mods is their any programming to vs or vt chip worth the effort?
and in mods to gain would we have to ...air pod ...larger exhaust ....and mild cam or without cam ...gain from chip reprogramming ?

No point at all man , the vx engine has like 5kw more then the vs engine . But the Vs weighs a hell lot less then a vt/vx so it would go faster anyways
the only performance change was really the injectors afters vs, they run ev6 which atomize the fuel better and run more constantly with varying line pressure, just get a memcal to suit your mods and run 98ron fuel and you'l be making more than a vx will.
