Hi Guys

Just wondering if it is possible to rig up a factory O2 sensor from a VR to use as a tuning tool?

My vr has a haltech and the manual loom I used when I did the conversion doesn't have the plug/wires for the 02 sensor. The car runs reasonable well without it but I'm installing bigger injectors and it would be nice to put a rough tune in at home without going to a dyno straight up.

I have the old O2 sensor and I'm thinking if I wire it up and run a multi meter off the sensor would it work just like a bought lambda sensor without the price tag?

Cheers

You need a wide band O2 sensor & controller & there should be an input depending which Haltech ECU you have.
The factory O2 sensor is only narrow band.

What sidecar said! Factory O2 is narrow band. At a guess, it will read half a point either side of stoich. Proper wideband should read something like 5:1 upto 18:1 from memory (can vary by brand I think)
