turned it around, moved the powersteering pump, moved the alternator. removed the auto tensioner (going to use the alternator to tension in the more traditional sense). added a blower will make doing the intercooler piping easy. for those that aren't interested in blowing, you could use this setup with the 90degree elbow removed and have the TB facing the front. makes a OTRCAI possible. you would need to use a ecotec DFI bracket with idler roller instead of the blower

well done, where is the powersteer reservoir located or have you got the remote reservoir like on late model commodores?

    Do you work at Segedins?

So the manifold is completely reversible like that?

I remember it being non symmetrical when i had it off last..... Apart from moving the other accessory's, it will physically fit the other way?

you ar ecorrect, the manifold isn't symmetrical but it's like that to allow for the offset of the left hand bank (of cylinders) to the right hand bank so the bigends sit next to each other on the crank pins. all the manifold mounting bolts line up fine so the ports must also.

i'm keen to get one of the US banana style manifolds now

both heads are the same part so the ports line up perfect no matter which way round it goes.dont know about the surface that seals to the valley though might be a little different

Where did you put the p/s pump?

What is the clearance like for the thermo stat housing + pipe?

    How will you hose it?

    Got more pics?

just double checked, the manifold fits perfect. the valley gaskets line up, bolts all line up etc. fully reversable.

i wsa goingto use the ecotec PS mounting plate but it bolts to the block and the buick block doesn't have a provision for it so i'll fabricate a custom bracket. looks fairly simple really. bolt it to the head.

thermostat housing is now at the front so i could just fit a s2 cooling system and that fixes that problem. will have to sort something forthe cooling lines that fit into the bottom of the manifold (as they are now at the back) but i can't see that being to difficult.

some more pics here My NZ VN V6

mounting the alternator where most people have the aircon pump, another custom bracket.

Interesting idea. What about the nice plastic manifolds in the US that are on this motor in EAST/WEST engine setups, they have a great runner length etc.
