Just keep playing with the gtech man, take notes of what went forward and what went back and you'll gain alot of time. First tips remove your mate and the sub and see what it actually runs so you have a baseline. It'll be alot faster. Otherwise you have to take the same mate and your subs everytime you test it and you wont want to do that.

Little things you can try that haven't been talked about on the forum are things like boxes on the intake piping at various lengths to find the right tuning point. Go to the wreckers and get some stock intake pipes you can cut and insert termination boxes into the line. Allways wanted to test that

    1. Remove subs, it's pointless weight and weight equals slower times.

    2. Remove the mate, basically what greenfoam said.

    3. Put the bellmouth back in, only thing that happens when you remove it is the engine with idle rougher.

    4. Get headers, stock manifold are fairly restrictive.

    5. If it's an auto, get a shift kit to tighten and speed up shifts.

    6. Look into diff gears, though they alone will probably chew through your entine budget.

Yep make a choice, do you want to go fast or have a quiet car with nice music, on a NA V6 you can't have both since you can't gain much power from the V6 the goal is weight weight weight, if you can possibly do without it, remove it

remove all sound deadening, look at mortons vq for inspiration on getting rid of weight.

but yeah, like everyone said weight =baddd

i shaved half a second off my time by removing some tools, spare wheel, and a shifter set from the boot of my car.

also id suggest doing the run on bare minimum petrol.
Can you name the truck with 4 wheel drive, smells like a steak and seats 35?

i should mention i ran 7.98 with my half tank petrol and empty boot, i have cai, kn filter and 2.5inch exhaust and foam tune also.

so you should be able to get it under 8.

my friends vz exec with empty boot (wagon) ran 7.94 stock so you should be coming close to that

    Get your mate to push?
I just love the way other motorists on the highway think it's an unmarked cop car.........

And Yes, it is a manual

    4. Get headers, stock manifold are fairly restrictive.

i was told by my mechanic that the stock headers have been proven to make the best power figures.
