    Default v6 rebuilds

Recently i drove my vn as fast as it would go for about 4-5 hours stupid i no but it was fun.

Before i left i checked oil water ect. when i git back home a mate following behind said my car dumped alot of smoke. The motor over heated and there was alot of big end noise. There is a chunk burnt of piston 1 and scoring in cylinder 1 some how it still fired on all 6.

What i want to do now is rebuild it and im also looking to supercharge it.
Some mods i would like to do are bore and hone reco the heads port and polish better cam new crankshaft pistons rings conrods bearins ect any one got any suggestions on parts costs ect

im looking at spending 5-6k on the motor without supercharger

If you were thinking of stroking it as well, check out COME Racing (www.comeracing.com). They've got some specials on at the moment including on thier 4.2 lt stroker. Complete kit 2.5k.

what sorta power do u want to be making? ive herd the ACL race series rebuild kits can handle a fair bit of abuse.

definetly talk to FIT as they run around 500hp on a stock ecotech engine...
they achive that on 20psi i think...
what i'm getting at is that the engine is pretty tough....
spend more cash on the induction rather than stroking it...

But his engine is rooted at the moment - if he's getting a rebuild he may as well get some better components. Also, is that FIT stat for a 1.8L or a 5.0L? The 500hp would be at the flywheel right? - because that makes about 250rwKW, which is impressive, and doubly so for the 3.8

a few comments made here have been wrong. the stroker kit the come racing makes is for the ecotec engine only (as far as i am aware) and the turbo car that fit are running uses a supercharged 6 bottom end, not an ecotec.
