Default Air intake swap from V8 to V6

hi guys new to this so im wondering if a Growler air intake kit off my Mates VE ss will fit and work on my 2007 VE SV6 fine with no troubles im not sure what the side affects can be? My mate says it wont change a thing its a simple bolt on and away you go but i always thought they made specific ones for V8 and V6's

any help would be great guys!

from memory with the growler, the v8 model is bigger so might not fit a v6

this is interesting i dont know if i want to put any on my car half of everyones says cai do nothing and ss inductions are shit then the other half swear by them it would have to be common sense that the v8 one would do more to a v6 then a v6 one would??
