doing the same thing as you at the moment mate, turbo build. and i've been told you can use the standard pump to run the surge tank but i cant remember everything the guy said. ill ask him again if i go see him tommorow
Yes, as long as the return from the rail goes back to the surge tank, then an overflow from the top of the surge tank back to the tank.
Will ensure it is at 100% all the time.
use a big surge tank so u always have a supply of fuel when your external pump needs it
never hurts to be safe
Sure.
Why not fill the boot then.
There's 'safe', then there is 'practical' and a line between them.
3 litres would be fine.
i run the standard pump into a 1.5L surge its plenty enough so far never run it out chrrrs vr turbo runs the same setup and the vb runs a stock old vl pump into same 1.5L surge its running 11's no dramas all running 255L/Hr external pumps
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
What about the walbro internal 255L/hr fuel pumps ?? i think they are GSS342, my ute wont see the drag strip and probably never see a race track and i always keep my fuel tank above half, Would one of these do the job ? it should fit straight into the stock fuel pump location.
